While the meet was a huge win personally, and from others it seemed to have positive feedback, the turnout from M30 folk was less than i was anticipating. But thats just how it goes sometimes. With that, i appologize for not keeping yall updated in a more timely matter!
I did however get to meet Shavi and Minh of Royal Origin for the first time, along with Darren, Mark, and Erik who i have had the pleasure of getting to know through our ownership of Datsun 910/Maxima's.
I also saw Anthony of SoCal S-Chassis who largly contributed to getting a turnout of people.
So as far as M30's are concered, Shavi showed up and showed of his sweet M30. The presence of it alone personally made me melt inside, but also stirred questions from a lot of the s chassis crowd that came and it instagated a lot of good discussions and curiosity about the chassis. And thats from the convorsations i was having with people, so im sure others were talking.
The best part was the collection of schassis owners being canyon/grip styled with clean, fairly preserved tastefull cars, taking the M30 seriously. The reason this was the best part can only be described by 2 things: Shavi's stance, and Shavi's enterance to the event. The lot wasnt perfectly flat, as rarely anything is, but in its smallest of swells Shavi's car managed to scrape on EVERYTHING. It was both amazing the ability and dedication to drive a car that low in socal, and how it nearly had me worried about what exactly was dragging and how critical it may have been. It did seem like it was mainly the rear most resinator shield that even my car had times it would scrape. Shavi deffinetly set the bar for me, and i believe a few others at least, on what it means to be LOW and static. Yet as insane as it was to see/hear, function-grip guys, werent willing to just write it off like i usually would see. It was truly a gathering of genuine open minded people. Regarless of numbers, thats what makes it a epic win in my opinion.
S/O to my wife for letting me hang out with a bunch of otherwise strangers late at night, a day into our vacation lol.
Below is Minh's coverage of the event he shared on the RoyalOrigin site:
