So yeah I picked this up a couple of weeks ago and still am trying to figure out what the hell to do with it. The dude I bought it from said the timing belt broke, so with that said the motor is fugged, the suspension seems to be in good condition and the body is fairly straight, but it seems like it was in sort of a fender bender in the front that has since been fixed. So the question is what to do with this new addition?

I say keep they other one stock (black one) and do the build on this one.

the motor might be messed up if the timing broke.. and that vg30et sitting around needs luv!

Yeah if I wasn't a poor college student I would probably do something crazy like that..... And yeah that turbo motor is looking for

hm...i chose the second one, and i see everyone else did too haha. im likin that leather man, if i were you, i'd keep the car just because the leather was still awesome haha.

Timing belt on VG-E's should be replaced every 60k miles. You prob have some valve damage. A web site I was reading said the bottom end for both turbo/non-turbo and rwd/fwd for the vg30e/vg33e are identical.

Pull the bad motor. Take it to a machine shop and have it bored 10% (3.3L) Buy some low compression pistons for a Vg33, use your turbo heads/intake. Have custom headers made to snake around the stearing stuff and do 3" with a highflow 3" cat. Change all the berings, buy metal head gaskets that are thicker than stock (to drop the compression further) ARP head studs (not BOLTS) Oil cooler, front mount, and a T3 and you'll have the fastest M30 on the boards.

the machine work should cost less than 500.00 on the high side (and include getting it hot tanked)
pistons & rings 200.00-300.00
metal head gaskets 120.00 or so
arp head studs/exaust studs can be over 80.00
Custom turbo exaust should cost about 500.00
new turbo 1,200.00
front mount and piping should be less than 400.00 (unless you get a spearco FMIC or something)
Oil cooler 80.00-100.00
walbro 255 lph in tank fuel pump 80-90.00
try to find a 5-speed for 200.00 or so
get a custom drive shaft made 200.00
new clutch 125-200.00
prob want to invest in a manual boost cont. and or a jim wolf turbo ecu but not ness.
3000-4000.00 or so total.

and your in business.

keep the turbo long block because if you want to sell it will sell for more than an N/A Long block (for some reason). Sounds like a lot of money but keep in mind... its 500.00 here, 200.00 there ect. plus machine work ect. takes time so you should be able to start collectiong required components while waiting on shipping and machine work. Just a thought.

Yeah the seats actually aren't in the best of condition, that picture of the drivers one is probably the best shot, in my opinion they need to be reupholstered. As for the motor there is probably some valve damage due to the timing belt failure *maybe a little damage to the piston tops but I am yet to investigate that. I am considering selling the car as it is if someone local(ish) is interested, the more I think about it I would probably be better off with only one extra car instead of two. As for the price I would say $350 firm to anyone interested. I don't know well see what happens in the next couple weeks or so..... I like your idea DynastyF31 about doing a full build but its more money than I have at the moment.
