[Oregon]1990 m30 slow slow build.

Post by Rosecitykid » Sat Feb 12, 2011 8:42 pm

Hey guys! Up until now I've been a lurker. I picked up my m30 about a month ago. I paid $600 for it. The previous owner tried to weld up a lsd diff and blew the spider gears. It has already had the five speed done and it's set up for s13 coils. I just put a welded s13 diff in. Next is seats, five lug, coils and a turbo set up. Not sure if I'm gonna do vg30 or vg33 but either one is getting aftermarket internals.

I'll post pictures as soon as I get on something other then my phone.

Finally an update!

I finally finished installing another rear end from a z31. while I was there I threw in a spare welded s13 diff.

Then last weekend I Swapped all the suspension with s13 parts and eibach pros.
From what I have heard the s13 stuff lowers m30s but I didnt notice any changes.
So.... I cut a coil or two.

Ignore the fenders, thats from the previous owner. It seems to me that he thought pulling fenders required vice grips.

Glad to hear that you got more stuff done to your M30. Are you using this as a daily as well? What kind of seats do you plan on putting in there?

Well keep it up and keep posting pics on your progres.

That drop isn't too bad! You should go with a proper set of coilovers. It adds a whole new dynamic to the suspension. S13s fit with minor adjustment. And are safer than a cut spring. Call me worrysome, but that didn't turnout to well on my old b13 sentra.

I switched everything over to s13 stuff so when I can afford it I will do coils. If you don't go too crazy cut springs aren't bad at all. I just didnt want to pull them out and cut again.

Not much of an update but i got my advans on finally!

Now im piecing together everything I need to remove the abs crap. Then I will be working on a full wire tuck.

Have any of you guys had problems with the clutch line being too close to the ground?
I took two out in a week but now im making a new hard line and trying to figure out how i should go about this.

Good to see a little action around here for once! I always say one of these days I will get my ass in gear, so hopefully sooner than later but like most of us M30 owners were never in too much of a rush... About the clutch line... I haven't had any problems with it being too low, you might want to reroute or rebend that sucker if you're killin em like that.

Well thank you! I know hopefully with summer time people will start being more active.

How did you do your clutch line? I'm rebuilding the line now using hard lines and a braided steel line.

Old previous owners work...

My replacement set up, stock hard line and an earl braided stainless steel brake line from an 83 320i.
