Well, I've been searching for a vert sporadically. Waiting and looking. Wishing and hoping.
Do I buy a project? Or do I buy something that I can build upon, but costs more?
Thanks to Jim P, my wishes have been met.
Jim posted this a couple months back. This is actually a record. 4 verts in one picture! We had 3 in 2006
Anyways, Jim emailed me saying someone had hit one of them:
He didn't want to part out another vert. I waited and I was playing around and I asked him if I could have it.
He said I could!!!!
I'm gonna try and get it this week!

Re: F31roger 3.0
Well, it happened. Jim gave me the vert and a spare door!!!
I drove it to Olympia (parent's house) where my dad was gonna get it looked at after he gets it registered.
This is where the snag it. DMV told my dad previous owner needs to get a new title... and that has taken some time.
I trust Jim and I know he is busy.
As of March 20th, the title is on the way (a couple weeks to get).
Here are some pix of it at my parent's place: Immediately after I got back from Seattle, I hit up the vert that was in Fairfield's PnP and got the fender and trunk molding/trim.
-------------------------------------------------------
While waiting, I started to get the stuff I felt I needed.
Door pins Climate control, since the one on the vert didn't work I also got Stagea cupholders Going through my stuff, I forgot I saved this black dash mat, so that will go on the vert:
And the current final piece, which I happened to come upon in the junkyard!!! Miraculously!!!!
It is brown/tan, which will match my interior! I cleaned it up and it looks perfect!!!

Re: F31roger 3.0
The plan is once the title gets to my dad, he will take it to the body shop and see what they quote. Jim's initial body shop assessment was $1800 w/o the door.
I want to see what would the cost be just to pull the door and put in the replacement.
Water pump, thermostat and belts will be changed sometime too.
---------------------------------
After that, I hope it happens quickly, but when my family is in Canada, I want to drive it and in July, possibly hit RADwood Seattle and then take pictures in Canada.
When I do go up there, I want to bring the boot, a copy of the front lip and maybe even the zenki tail lights.
Then at one point, I'll drive it down so it can be here in the bay area.
I do want to address the rust spot on the front top of wind shield.
But the eventual plan is to repaint.

Re: F31roger 3.0
So an update.
I drove it to Vancouver BC. On the way, I stopped by Dom's place (Mark's cousin and where the Leopard is) I then drove up to meet with Albert and Jim and finally resting in Vancouver BC ------------------------------------------------------------------------
While I loved it.. I couldn't ignore the huge dent in the door. I also did a full assessment since my last time with the car was driving to Olympia and not seeing it for 6 months.
On the good end of that weekend, I also brought up my goodies!

Re: F31roger 3.0
when I arrived during the 2nd time of my trip to Vancouver BC.
Someone had broken my rear quarter glass. There was also a slight misfiring. And my brother in law said the battery kept dying. I didn't have time to do a tune up on it though.

Re: F31roger 3.0
In November of 2019,
I drove up to BC and replaced the window. I also brought a porta power hydraulic pump to push the dent from inside.. It helped, but I couldn't go any further. I will need to pull the frame.
While there, I got a new battery and water proof cover since rain was happening and the interior carpet was soaked!

As it sits right now in BC with the cover on.
Itabashi-san has said he wanted the car, so I will either give him this one or get another one for him. This car does have some sentimental value as it was given to me by Jim.
