my m30 - rebuild

no real major progress, lots of little shit taking up my time.

engine is mostly back together, im trying to hold out for a 200sx intake manifold, but it looks like ill be putting the stock one back on. need to get the egr hole welded shut, or i might tap it and put a plug in it.

test fitting the intercooler cause im bored

Why do you want to use a 200sx manifold? Its smaller than our stock one.

cause the actual plenum is the same size, but it doesnt have that stupid bottle neck between it and the tb.
i can also mount it backwards to put the throttle body on the passenger side, for much better intercooler piping setup.

So the volume is the same? I was under the impression that the 200sx had a smaller volume from some of the intake comparisons done by Jason on z31performance. Being able to mount it backwards would help with intercooler piping, but then you have to weld your EGR shut and modify for your idle controls. Have you looked into a pathfinder intake manifold? I wonder if they clear our hoods. I was thinking of using a pathfinder manifold or a Quest manifold mounted backwards to point the TB towards the passenger side of the car like you want to.

its not exactly the same, but its close enough. the egr is gone anyway. idle controls arent that big of a deal. actually, i dont think he even posted any s12 info on his site did he? i know he tested them but i dont remember results. pathfinder plenum will put the throttle body into the back of my turbo.

What intercooler are you using? It looks like its too big to fit with A/C isn't it?

i relocated the a/c condensor to a tupperware tub in the back of my garage, so room is plentiful.
there is now an s14 sr mounted in, filled with fluids, most of the harness layout is redone, still need to make some connections, and setup my intercooler piping and exhaust.
