Caliper Update:

Well I never took them to get powdercoated. Decided to take em to my uncle so he could work his magic. I prepped everything, he just shot the base, paint, and clear. Leftover paint from when we did my car. Did these outside, came out real nice.

Here they are after being sanded down with a scratch pad. Masked the letters myself with 3M tape. Took forever!

Before the clear was applied, I had to carefully remove the tape with a blade. Took me a good 45 minutes to get it perfect.

Image

Finished! Sitting in my room for a couple of days till everything hardens real good. Will apply all new seals in the front and new hardware on all four calipers. Has a yellowish tint to it just like the M. Now I need some black wheels..

Well these are probably the best looking Z32 calipers out there. I don't think anyone does candy on brake calipers :) .

Haha z32 calipers maybe, but I've seen plently people do candy on calipers. Most are high end like Porsche Cayenne turbo 6 pot calipers and such.

Thing is I am trying to get this car done but the coilovers I want are OOS everywhere and I am having an extremely difficult time choosing some decent flat black rims. I am just thinking of taking the easy way out and getting some fn01rc 17x9 +12 and 17x10 +12 flat black rims.... So rims and coilovers are whats holding me back. :(

PM me about what you are looking for and how much you are trying to spend. I'm sure we can find something in SOCAL.

Can somebody please change the title of this thread to "Mr. 25/8's M"? This is no longer a showcar.

I am running out of stuff to install....in fact I just installed the last part I had. 2 Green brake pedal stoppers.

Image

Finished my z32 calipers. Hawk HPS pads throughout. These are basically new! Can't wait to install em.

Image

I know my updates are getting boring and a bit redundant, but I gotta help keep this place alive! EZ update your thread damnit. I know you're holding back. At least a pic of the trunk switch I sent ya. :drinking:

Thanks striker, and thank you whoever changed the title of the thread! 8)

A little update once more.

The front 4 lug hubs/spindles were pulled off a 94 s13 with 122k...never expected to see them like this. Unmolested..

Image

Replaced with Ichiba 5 lug hubs with new oem bearings pressed in.
Image

Trash metal from one side
Image

Front is done. Everything torqued to factory specs. Need to adjust the brake line once coilovers come in...and something about the abs..
Image

Rear also done...the half shafts are gonna have to be rebuilt as the boots were torn and leaking.

Did the front rack s14 poly bushings. Was way loose before, now solid as a rock.
Image

Ok...I took the easy way out and got some used fn01rc's for cheap (17x9 & 17x10, +15 & +12 respectively)...painted the barrels and all, turned out nice. Anyone have any recommendations as far as what tires should I purchase? Was thinking 235/40/17 for the rears and 225/45/17 for fronts. Not to familiar with brands...
Image

Oh, and bee friends.

Any help with tires would be appreciated. :batmaan:

Looks really good! What tire sizes are on the wheels right now? Do you like a lot of wheel stretch on your wheels? Where did you get those brake switch stoppers from?

Actually those sizes that I posted are whats actually on there now. I don't like a lot of stretch but wouldn't mind some. I just dont want the tires to rub on the fenders or inner walls when cornering...

I got the brake pedal stoppers from FRsport. Oh, and I just ordered those MAX coilovers. :D Can't wait till they come in. I also just saw that 240sxmotoring just got a shipment of LXs yesterday on Zilvia...I still think I made the right choice. The MAX coils come with 8k/10k spring rates so I ordered a pair of 6k springs just in case if its too harsh.

I think those tires sizes are perfect for your setup. You should mount the them on each side and compress the suspension all the way up to see if your rub on your fenders with those tires.

Well, Discount Tire finally got my rear 235/40/17 size tires in...so I put in some work. It is finally down on the flo and the rears are tuckin a bit. Haven't adjusted the front coilovers yet so there is a 3" gap for now. Tomorrow it goes in for alignment, but what trips me out is what specs are they gonna align it with if the whole suspension is pretty much s13 now?? Either way, the car rides Perfect IMO on the Parts by Max s13 coils with 10k/8k spring rates (bought 6k springs just in case). I have them set at full Hard and they feel like they are made for the car. Of course the car isn't aligned, but I took some quick turns and it feels like a damn track car. Sticks to the road like a magnet. I highly recommend this suspension, it beats the KYB stuff I had by a long shot. Of course a fresh set of Yokohama tires helps a ton.

What I don't understand though are the brakes. I bled them all including @ the booster but there isn't enough bite on the pedal. I mean the pedal has to go down quite a bit before it starts to stop. I have the BM-50 (stock MC) on now, but some how doubt thats the problem. I mean, didnt some z32s come with the bm50 from the factory? Regardless, I have a bm-57 (1-1/16 MC) sitting here that I might have to swap out if I can't figure this out...and yes the bleeder valves are all at the top so calipers were installed correctly, and they were bled until no more air was visible through the clear lines...Any tips or suggestions?

And also the steering wheel doesn't return to center after making a turn...is this due to caster not being positive enough? Will they adjust that at alignment?

Anyways, here's 4 pics for now.

Tuckin' 10's lol. You can see some chips on the outer lips due to the mounting of the new wheels. Somehow I think rattlecanning them would have been better tht using automotive paint. Touch-up is in order.

Oh and the half shafts I got re-mans from O'reillyyyyys. $140 for a set, not bad at all. They were a bitch to get on, but they are on....tight. Any certain pics anyone wants to see, lmk. I'll post em up.

Oh and I picked up this little beast, couldn't resist. Intel i7, 4gb ram, 1gb nvidia 335 GT, OCZ vertex 2 ssd...and 7+ hr battery life. Best of both worlds. :D
